Revised Club Rules due to COVID-19 and social distancing

Updated: Jun 14, 2020

These have been updated for the new special 'outdoor' Puppy training courses starting 31st May 2020 at Grove Farm Equestrian Centre.

We do not have many rules at the Club but please adhere to the following:

  • Social distancing must be observed at all times

  • Sensible clothing should be worn, at times you may be required to bend over and be on the floor i.e. for the ladies, no low cut tops and short skirts!

  • Flat sensible shoes to be worn, suitable for training outside in a field, trainers are ideal. (No heels, flip-flops, sandals and crocs!)

  • No flexi, rope or chain leads or harnesses to be used for training in classes

  • Bring poo bags in case of need – please clean up after your dog

  • Please park responsibly and keep your dog on a leash.

  • You may meet horses and riders during your visit please give way and keep your distance.

  • You must be in control of your dog at all times – remember not all dogs are friendly under stressful conditions, so do allow all dogs their own space

  • Please do not feed your dog after breakfast on a Sunday before attending classes as if they get anxious or excited it may reappear from one end or the other!!

  • If your dog is ill or is in season during the duration of your course, you should still attend without your dog and we will provide you with a dog to learn the exercises to put into practice at home with your own dog

  • Remember if your dog has to go into kennels at any time, it cannot attend classes for 4 weeks due to the high risk of kennel cough

We can advise on collars and leads suitable for training

The course training style is that we don’t train your dogs, we train you to train your dog. We will demonstrate and teach a set of exercises and then it is down to the handler to practice with your dog during the week. We recommend 10 minutes twice a day. We will then examine your progress of those exercises the following week.

  • Maximum of 4 puppies can attend. One handler per puppy. If an additional family member needs to attend, we will need to discuss this with you during application (as social distancing will need to be observed).

  • Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 we request children under 14 do not attend the course.

  • We hope this information answers any queries you may have but if you have any questions please ask in class, nine times out of ten someone else will be experiencing the same issue!
